North Dog is a professional and friendly dog walking and pet care service in Rothbury and surrounding areas. I offer a daily or occasional dog walking and dog running service from a half hour stroll to full and half day adventure treks at weekends and off peak times. Services also include puppy and cat visits as well as small pet holiday feeding and care.

A quick note on safety

As you will have already read NorthDog is fully insured and the vehicle I use is kitted out with a custom built cage to provide safe travel. I am canine first aid trained and keep my certificate up to date. All equipment used is of a high standard and is well maintained.

To keep all our animals healthy appropriate vaccinations, worming and flea treatments should be kept up to date. Dogs should wear a suitable collar and id tag for their walk.

Dog walks will take place in whatever the weather, you can rest assured I will always do my utmost to attend.

Some Adventure Dog Treks are carried out in remote areas, therefore if weather conditions are considered to be unsafe low level alternative treks can be offered.

My ultimate aim

Is to give your dog the best walking experience possible but as many of the areas covered may be unfamiliar to your dog and contain livestock an appropriate lead will be used to keep them safe. With NorthDog all of Northumberland’s amazing wildlife is treated with respect and I always seek to minimise disturbance.

I always ensure dogs are provided with fresh drinking water especially on the longer treks and I carry a basic first aid kit on all walks.

A short meet and greet session is always provided free of charge prior to walking any new dog but depending on your dog’s temperament it can be beneficial to book a short walk or two prior to an Adventure Trek so your dog can get to know me.
